How to Add Custom Skins in Minecraft Bedrock (2026)

Custom PNG skins work on Windows, Android, iPhone and iPad. Consoles can't import them.

1. Get a skin

Pick one from the best skins, boy skins, girl skins or all skins, then press Download for the PNG. Wear it in Minecraft gives you a .mcpack instead: open it and Minecraft imports it for you, and the skin shows up under Classic Skins.

Windows

  1. Download the skin PNG.
  2. Open Minecraft and select Dressing Room on the main menu.
  3. Open Classic Skins (the hanger tab).
  4. Under Owned, select the blank skin, then Import, then Choose New Skin.
  5. Pick the PNG, then choose the classic (Steve) or slim (Alex) arms.

Android

  1. Download the skin PNG. It is saved to Downloads.
  2. Open Minecraft and select Dressing Room on the main menu.
  3. Open Classic Skins (the hanger tab).
  4. Under Owned, select the blank skin, then Import, then Choose New Skin.
  5. Pick the PNG in the file picker, then choose the arm type.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Download the skin PNG and save it to Photos or Files.
  2. Open Minecraft and select Dressing Room on the main menu.
  3. Open Classic Skins (the hanger tab).
  4. Under Owned, select the blank skin, then Import, then Choose New Skin.
  5. Pick the PNG in the picker, then choose the arm type.

Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

Consoles can't import custom PNG skins. A skin you import on PC or mobile stays on that device. On console you can use the Character Creator or Marketplace skin packs, which follow your Microsoft account.

Java Edition

The same PNG works on Java: in the Minecraft Launcher open Skins, add a new skin, browse to the PNG, pick the arm size and save.

If something looks wrong

  1. Arms look cut off or have a gap: import it again with the other arm type.
  2. The skin won't import: it has to be a Minecraft skin PNG (64x64 pixels, or the older 64x32).
