📖 Full V3.3.3 Details

🎛️ New Entity Lighting Menu

V3.3.3 introduces a dedicated Entity Lighting section inside World Settings.

This menu gives operators a quick overview of:

  • Which entity light categories are enabled
  • Current TNT brightness
  • Current XP Orb brightness
  • Current Fireball brightness
  • Current End Crystal brightness
  • How many Custom Entity Lights are registered

From there you can open:

  • Entity Light Categories
  • Entity Brightness Levels
  • Custom Entity Lights

✨ Individual Entity Light Categories

Entity Lighting is now much more customizable.

Each category can be enabled or disabled independently:

  • ✨ Natural Glowing Mobs
  • 🔥 Burning Entities
  • 🏹 Glowing Projectiles
  • ✨ XP Orbs
  • 💥 TNT & End Crystal
  • 🧩 Custom Entity Lights

There is still a global Entity Lighting master switch.

If the master switch is disabled, all entity-based dynamic lighting is disabled regardless of the individual category settings.

💡 Configurable Entity Brightness

You can now customize the Light Level used by several special entity sources.

Available range:

Light Level 1-15

Adjustable sources:

  • 🔥 Fireballs
  • ✨ XP Orbs
  • 💥 Primed TNT
  • 💎 End Crystals

Default values:

  • Fireballs - Level 15
  • XP Orbs - Level 4
  • TNT - Level 10
  • End Crystal - Level 15

This allows you to make these effects more subtle or much brighter depending on your world and personal preference.

🔥 Burning Entities

Burning Entity Lighting now has its own independent setting.

When enabled, entities and players that are currently on fire can produce dynamic light.

You can disable this feature without disabling natural mobs, projectiles or Custom Entity Lights.

🏹 Glowing Projectiles

Projectile Lighting can now be controlled separately.

This category includes:

  • Fireballs
  • Small Fireballs
  • Dragon Fireballs
  • Burning Arrows

Fireball brightness can be configured from Light Level 1 to 15.

💥 Explosive Lighting

Primed TNT and End Crystals now have their own category.

Both can be disabled without affecting other entity lights.

The brightness of TNT and End Crystals can also be configured independently.

✨ XP Orb Lighting

XP Orb lighting can now be disabled separately.

Its brightness can also be adjusted between Light Level 1 and 15.

The Performance preset disables XP Orb lighting by default to reduce unnecessary entity-light processing in busy worlds.

🧩 Custom Entity Lights

The Custom Entity Light system introduced in V3.3.2 is still fully supported.

V3.3.3 adds a separate master control specifically for registered Custom Entity Lights.

This means operators can keep custom mobs registered without needing to delete them when they temporarily want to disable their dynamic lighting.

🧹 Entity Light Stability Improvements

V3.3.3 improves how moving and disappearing entity lights are tracked and cleaned.

If an entity stops being detected for a short period, its previous dynamic light position can now be cleaned automatically.

This provides an additional safety system for situations where an entity disappears, becomes invalid, moves outside the processing range or can no longer be tracked normally.

Combined with the projectile cleanup improvements from V3.3.2, this further reduces the chance of temporary dynamic light blocks being left behind.

👹 Entity Lighting

Entities and special projectiles can create dynamic light around them.

In V3.3.3, Entity Lighting now uses:

Master Switch + Individual Categories

🎛️ Entity Lighting

The main Entity Lighting option enables or disables the entire entity-light system.

When enabled, you can decide separately which categories should produce light.

Available Categories

  • ✨ Natural Glowing Mobs
  • 🔥 Burning Entities
  • 🏹 Glowing Projectiles
  • ✨ XP Orbs
  • 💥 TNT & End Crystal
  • 🧩 Custom Entity Lights

This means you can create combinations such as:

  • Keep natural mobs but disable XP Orbs
  • Keep fireballs but disable burning entities
  • Disable TNT lighting but keep Ender-world mobs and custom entities
  • Use only Custom Entity Lights from another Add-on
  • Disable every entity s

🔥 Fireball Brightness

Fireballs can use any:

Light Level from 1 to 15

Default:

Level 15

Burning Arrows continue using their own appropriate dynamic light level.

💥 TNT & End Crystal Lighting

Primed TNT and End Crystals can produce dynamic light.

Both are controlled by the same category switch, but their brightness values can be configured separately.

💥 TNT

Default:

Light Level 10

Available:

1-15

💎 End Crystal

Default:

Light Level 15

Available:

1-15

✨ XP Orb Lighting

Experience Orbs can produce a smaller dynamic light around themselves.

Default:

Light Level 4

You can customize it anywhere from:

Level 1-15

XP Orb lighting can also be disabled completely without affecting any other entity light source.

🧩 Custom Entity Lights

Make Mobs From Other Add-ons Glow

Custom Entity Lights allow operators to register mobs from other Add-ons as dynamic light sources.

You do not need to edit the other Add-on.

How It Works

  1. Move close to a custom mob
  2. Open Custom Entity Lights
  3. Choose Add Nearby Custom Entity
  4. Select the entity
  5. Choose its Light Level from 1 to 15

You can register up to:

24 Custom Entity Lights

This is useful for Add-ons that include:

  • 🔥 Elemental mobs
  • ✨ Magic creatures
  • 💎 Crystal entities
  • 🤖 Machines or robots
  • 👹 Custom bosses
  • 🌟 Glowing creatures

Registered Custom Entity Lights can now also be temporarily disabled through the new Entity Lighting menu without deleting their configuration.

🎯 Brightest Entity Priority

When multiple dynamic entity lights overlap, System Dynamic Lights prioritizes the stronger source.

For example:

A weak XP Orb should not replace the light created by a nearby Fireball or End Crystal.

Entity light sources are processed by brightness so the strongest valid light remains visible in overlapping areas.

🧹 Moving Entity & Projectile Cleanup

Moving light sources are continuously tracked.

When a projectile or other entity moves to another block, its previous dynamic light position is cleaned before the new light is created.

This prevents moving sources such as:

  • 🏹 Burning Arrows
  • 🔥 Fireballs
  • ✨ XP Orbs
  • 💥 Primed TNT
  • 👹 Custom entities

from leaving unwanted light behind.

V3.3.3 also adds an additional cleanup system for entity lights that are no longer being tracked.

👤 Personal Settings

Personal Settings affect only the player who changes them.

This is especially useful in multiplayer because each player can choose their own lighting preferences.

Personal settings include:

  • My Dynamic Light
  • Main Hand Light
  • Offhand Light
  • Helmet Light
  • Preferred Light Source
  • Offhand Activation Method
  • Offhand Torch Placement
  • Offhand Place Light Blocks
  • Item Information
  • Reset My Settings

One player can use every lighting feature while another uses a cleaner or more performance-focused setup.

✋ Main Hand & Offhand Lighting

Main-hand and offhand lighting can be controlled independently.

For example:

  • Keep Main Hand Light enabled
  • Disable Offhand Light
  • Use only Offhand Light
  • Disable your own Dynamic Light completely

Other players can still use their own personal settings.

🤚 Quick Offhand System

Supported light items can automatically be moved into your empty offhand.

Hold a supported light source in your main hand and look toward empty air.

Then use the item:

  • 🖱️ PC: Right-click
  • 📱 Mobile: Press and hold
  • 🎮 Console: Normal interact/use button

Your offhand must be empty.

Looking at empty air helps prevent accidentally placing the block.

🧱 Place Lights From the Offhand

Some supported light blocks can be placed directly from the offhand.

When enabled, use:

Sneak + Hit

Available modes:

  • Torches Only
  • Torches and Lanterns
  • All Placeable Lights

Not every light-emitting item has a placeable block version.

🎯 Player Light Source Priority

What happens if you have multiple player light sources equipped?

System Dynamic Lights lets you choose which one should take priority.

Available Modes

  • ✨ Brightest Available
  • 🔄 Original Priority
  • 🪖 Prefer Helmet
  • 🤚 Prefer Offhand
  • ✋ Prefer Main Hand

✨ Brightest Available

Automatically uses the source with the highest Light Level.

🔄 Original Priority

Uses:

Helmet → Offhand → Main Hand

Preferred Source Modes

Uses your selected source first.

If it is unavailable, the addon can fall back to the brightest remaining source.

🌍 World Settings

World Settings affect the entire world.

Only the host or operators can modify them.

Available systems include:

  • Enable Dynamic Light
  • Dropped Item Lights
  • Maximum Dropped Item Lights
  • Entity Lighting
  • Entity Light Categories
  • Entity Brightness Levels
  • Dimension Settings
  • Dynamic Light Range
  • Performance Presets
  • Custom Light Sources
  • Custom Entity Lights
  • Reset World Settings

Normal players can still use their own Personal Settings without changing global options.

🎛️ Entity Lighting Control

V3.3.3 adds a dedicated menu specifically for entity lighting.

Operators can see a quick summary of:

  • Natural Glowing Mobs - ON/OFF
  • Burning Entities - ON/OFF
  • Glowing Projectiles - ON/OFF
  • XP Orbs - ON/OFF
  • TNT & End Crystal - ON/OFF
  • Custom Entity Lights - ON/OFF
  • TNT Light Level
  • XP Orb Light Level
  • Fireball Light Level
  • End Crystal Light Level
  • Number of registered custom entities

This makes it much easier to change entity lighting without searching through unrelated World Settings.

📏 Dynamic Light Range

Dynamic Light Range controls how far from players the addon processes:

  • Dropped Item Lights
  • Entity Lights

Available options:

  • ⚡ Short - 24 blocks
  • ⚖️ Medium - 48 blocks
  • ✨ High - 64 blocks
  • 🌟 Very High - 96 blocks

Lower values are better for performance.

Higher values allow more distant entities and dropped objects to continue producing light.

🚀 Performance Presets

Don't want to manually configure every performance option?

Choose one of the built-in presets.

⚡ Performance

Recommended for:

  • Realms
  • Mobile devices
  • Lower-end hardware
  • Busy worlds

Uses:

  • 24-block Dynamic Light Range
  • Dropped Item Lights enabled
  • Maximum 10 dropped lights
  • Natural Glowing Mobs enabled
  • Burning Entities enabled
  • Glowing Projectiles enabled
  • TNT & End Crystal enabled
  • Custom Entity Lights enabled
  • XP Orb Lighting disabled

XP Orbs are disabled in this preset because worlds can contain many of them at once.

⚖️ Balanced

Recommended for most players.

Uses:

  • **48-
  • 💡 Light Level 1-15
  • ✋ Main Hand enabled/disabled
  • 🤚 Offhand enabled/disabled
  • 💨 Dropped Item Light enabled/disabled

This means a custom crystal could work only while held, while another item could illuminate the area when dropped.

You can register up to:

24 Custom Item Light Sources

💡 Supported Vanilla Light Items

System Dynamic Lights supports many vanilla light-emitting items.

🔎 Show Supported Item Examples

For example, dropping a Torch or Lava Bucket can create light where it lands.

Maximum processed dropped lights can be configured as:

  • 10 Lights
  • 25 Lights
  • 50 Lights
  • Unlimited

Lower limits are recommended for Realms and lower-end devices.

🌊 Underwater Lighting

Some supported light items can also illuminate underwater.
