🛠️ NewTools

NewTools is a Vanilla+ addon that adds more tools, armor and shields to Minecraft Bedrock without making the game feel too different.

This version is a full update of the old addon. A lot of the old behavior was cleaned up, the items were updated for newer Minecraft versions, and the addon now uses a more modern system for durability, item information, armor bonuses and shields.

It is made for survival players who want more material progression, more equipment options and a few useful set bonuses.

This version updates NewTools for newer Minecraft Bedrock versions and removes old systems that are no longer needed.

Main changes

• Updated for Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.90+
• No experimental gameplay required
• Reworked item durability
• Added better item lore / information
• Added translated lore for English and Spanish
• Added armor set bonuses
• Added proper shield behavior
• Shields can be used in main hand or offhand
• Shield durability is now handled more safely
• Unbreaking now helps reduce durability loss

📦 What does this addon add?

NewTools adds 45 equipment items:

• 25 tools
• 16 armor pieces
• 4 shields

It also adds:

• Item lore with useful information
• Armor set bonuses

🧰 Tool Sets

The addon includes 5 tool materials:

Flint Tools

A simple early-game tool set.

Includes:

• Flint Pickaxe
• Flint Axe
• Flint Shovel
• Flint Hoe
• Flint Knife

Flint tools are weaker, but useful if you want an early survival progression before getting stronger materials.

Prismarine Tools

A mid-game tool set based around Prismarine.

Includes:

• Prismarine Sword
• Prismarine Pickaxe
• Prismarine Axe
• Prismarine Shovel
• Prismarine Hoe

Prismarine Armor

Good for ocean exploration.

• 2 pieces: Water Breathing
• Full set: Conduit Power

Quartz Tools

A clean-looking tool set with decent durability and damage.

Includes:

• Quartz Sword
• Quartz Pickaxe
• Quartz Axe
• Quartz Shovel
• Quartz Hoe

Quartz Armor

Quartz Armor reflects damage back to attackers.

• Each piece reflects damage
• Full set adds extra reflected damage

Emerald Tools

A strong and enchantable tool set.

Includes:

• Emerald Sword
• Emerald Pickaxe
• Emerald Axe
• Emerald Shovel
• Emerald Hoe

Emerald Armor

Useful for village-related gameplay.

• 2 pieces: Hero of the Village I
• Full set: Hero of the Village II

Obsidian Tools

A heavier and more durable tool set.

Includes:

• Obsidian Sword
• Obsidian Pickaxe
• Obsidian Axe
• Obsidian Shovel
• Obsidian Hoe

Obsidian Armor

• 2 pieces: Fire Resistance
• Full set: Resistance I

🛡️ Custom Shields

The addon includes 4 custom shields:

• Emerald Shield
• Obsidian Shield
• Prismarine Shield
• Quartz Shield

These shields can be used to block attacks by sneaking and facing the attack.

The shields work in main hand or offhand, and durability is handled by the addon so they do not break weirdly when attacking or mining.

Unbreaking also helps reduce durability loss.

📜 Item Information / Lore

NewTools items now include useful information directly in the item description.

Depending on the item, the lore can show:

• Durability
• Enchantability
• Repair material
• Shield block information
• Armor set bonuses
• NewTools brand marker

This makes it easier to understand what each item does without needing to check a separate guide.

The lore is translated and currently includes:

• English
• Spanish Spain

⛏️ Prismarine Ore

This version includes Prismarine Ore.

It generates underground and is used for Prismarine equipment progression.

Prismarine Ore appears in the nature / ores category and drops through its own loot table.

🔧 Vanilla Tool Actions

NewTools tools support normal Minecraft-style interactions.

For example:

• Axes can strip logs
• Hoes can turn dirt or grass into farmland
• Shovels can create dirt paths

These actions also consume durability in survival.

✨ Enchanting and Repair

NewTools equipment supports enchantability and repair materials.

Repair materials include:

• Flint
• Emerald
• Obsidian
• Prismarine Shard
• Quartz

Each material has its own durability and enchantability values.

This addon does not need experimental toggles anymore, so the old experimental-games section was removed.

📦 Installation Guide

You must install both packs:

• NewTools BP/BH - behavior, scripts, items, blocks and mechanics
• NewTools RP/RS - textures, models, names and translations

Both files are required for the addon to work properly.

Activate both packs in your world.
