Steps

1. 1Dig 1 down and place 7 spruce logs in a 3 by 3 ringLeave 1 gap in the ring. Then add 2 spruce planks in a straight row. This is the bottom of the trunk.
2. 2Stack 30 spruce logs from layer 1 to layer 4 for the trunkKeep them inside a 3 by 3 area. Put 4 ladders in a column inside so you can climb up.
3. 3Lay 31 spruce planks on layer 5 on the left sideFit them in a 5 by 9 area. This is the floor of the first room. Add 1 light blue wool too.
4. 4Build the right side with 29 spruce planks on layers 5 to 8Add a ladder column 4 blocks tall to climb higher. Put 2 light blue wool along a 9 block line.
5. 5Add 2 glowstone and 1 lime wool on layer 5Place them near the middle. The glowstone lights up the room.
6. 6Build up with 25 spruce planks from layer 9 to layer 13Spread them over 5 layers in a 7 by 6 area. Add 4 ladders in a column to reach the top room.
7. 7Put the spruce door at the bottom of the trunkThe door is 2 blocks tall, on layers 1 and 2. Make it face the front.
8. 8Add 4 yellow wool, 1 lime wool, and 1 red wool on layer 6Place them around the outside edge. These are bright ornaments for the tree.
9. 9Place 12 spruce planks between layers 8 and 12Add 3 yellow wool and 2 light blue wool too. The planks help hold up the upper rooms.
10. 10Add 7 glowstone and 1 red wool from layer 7 to layer 12Spread the glowstone all around. They look like glowing lights on the tree.
11. 11Place 5 lime wool from layer 8 to layer 12Spread them out across the layers near the middle. They are green ornaments.
12. 12Lay 19 spruce planks on layer 13 for the top floorFit them in a 5 by 5 area. Put 1 ladder where the ladder column comes up.
13. 13Add 2 yellow wool, red wool, lime wool, and glowstone on layer 14Use 1 red wool, 1 glowstone, and 1 lime wool. Keep the yellow wool along a 5 block line.
14. 14Put 1 light blue wool and 1 glowstone on layers 15 and 16Place them on the right side. They are high ornaments near the top.
15. 15Put the red bed in the top room on layer 14Place it on the right side, inside. The bed takes 2 blocks, so leave room.
16. 16Place a crafting table, smithing table, and smoker on layer 6Line them up at the back of the room. This is your work corner.
17. 17Add a furnace, stonecutter, and loom on layer 6Put them in the middle of the room, near the other work blocks.
18. 18Set up 2 brewing stands and magic tools on layers 10 and 11Add 1 cauldron, 1 anvil, 1 grindstone, and 1 enchanting table. This is the magic room.
19. 19Place 6 chests and 2 barrels on layer 6 for storageFit the chests in a 3 by 7 area. Line the barrels along a 7 block line.
20. 20Add 6 more chests and 2 barrels on layer 7Put them on top of the ones on layer 6 to make tall storage walls.
21. 21Add 2 barrels at the back on layer 10Place them along a 3 block line. Now you have more room for your stuff.
22. 22Place 3 spruce trapdoors in a column on layers 6 to 8Stack them 3 blocks tall inside the room. They make a nice wall look.
23. 23Add 9 bookshelves and 3 spruce trapdoors on layers 10 to 12Fit the bookshelves in a 5 by 4 area near the enchanting table. Stack the trapdoors in a column 3 tall.
24. 24Hang 4 lanterns in the corners on layer 8Put them at the 4 corners of a 5 by 5 area. They light up the room.
25. 25Add 2 lanterns on layer 12Keep them inside a 3 by 3 area to light the upper room.
26. 26Place 2 glowstone around the outside on layer 5These will shine through the leaves like tree lights.
27. 27Add 7 red wool ornaments from layer 7 to layer 19Spread them out up the tree. Put them where they will poke out of the leaves.
28. 28Add 6 light blue wool ornaments from layer 7 to layer 20Space them apart from the red ones so the colors mix.
29. 29Add 4 yellow wool ornaments from layer 11 to layer 19Put them in empty spots between the other ornaments.
30. 30Add 4 glowstone lights from layer 15 to layer 19Spread them out near the top half so the whole tree glows.
31. 31Add 4 lime wool and 1 ochre froglight near the topUse layers 16 to 23. The ochre froglight glows just under the star.
32. 32Place 26 spruce leaves on layer 4 on the left sideFit them in a 5 by 9 area. This is the bottom of the tree.
33. 33Place 26 spruce leaves on layer 4 on the right sideFit them in a 5 by 9 area to match the left side.
34. 34Wrap 28 spruce leaves all around on layer 5Spread them in an 11 by 11 area. Leave the ornaments showing.
35. 35Wrap 28 more spruce leaves all around on layer 6Use the same 11 by 11 area. This is the widest part of the tree.
36. 36Add 44 spruce leaves on layers 7 and 8Fit them in a 9 by 9 area. The tree starts to get smaller here.
37. 37Place 20 spruce leaves on layer 9Keep them inside a 9 by 9 area and fill around the ornaments.
38. 38Add 48 spruce leaves on layers 10 to 12Stay inside a 9 by 9 area. Cover the walls of the magic room.
39. 39Place 16 spruce leaves on layer 13Now the tree gets smaller. Fit them in a 7 by 7 area.
40. 40Add 48 spruce leaves on layers 14 to 17Keep them in a 7 by 7 area. These hide the top room.
41. 41Add 30 spruce leaves on layers 18 to 22Fit them in a 5 by 5 area. This makes the pointy top of the tree.
42. 42Add 4 barrels and 2 blast furnaces on layers 6 and 7Stack the barrels in 2 columns, each 2 tall. Add 1 furnace and 1 smoker too.
43. 43Place 6 chests and a crafting table on layer 14Fit the chests in a 3 by 5 area in the top room.
44. 44Add a barrel, ender chest, and furnace on layer 14Put them near the chests so all your things are close to the bed.
45. 45Place 4 bookshelves and 2 red carpets from layer 10 to 14Fit the bookshelves in a 5 by 2 area. Lay the carpets in a straight row of 2.
46. 46Put 1 torch on layer 14Place it in the middle of the top room so it is not dark.
47. 47Top the tree with 5 end rods for the starUse layers 23 and 24 inside a 3 by 3 area. Point them out to make a shiny star.
